About Emergent

Emergent Properties is focused on the Vancouver market area and drawing on the depth of expertise of its leadership team, Emergent brings a passionate commitment to seeking out new and better ways to create value, manage risk and build exceptional projects that will deliver stronger communities, better buildings and superior performance in all aspects of designing, building and operating real estate in the increasingly complex and uncertain world that is the global real estate market in the 21st century.

Why ‘Emergent’?

The name is drawn from a new philosophical and strategic approach, known as Emergence, which seeks to explain and understand complex phenomenon and systems by understanding both the component parts and the underlying relationship between them. What emerges from all such relationships are phenomenon that are truly ‘more than the sum of its parts’, not just a difference in degree but of kind, often at a scale much larger than the collection of parts would imply.

The role that the built environment, especially in cities, plays in the lives of the increasingly urbanized citizens of our world is profoundly complex and becoming more so every day. We at Emergent Properties believe that with an Emergent approach, elegant viable solutions will be revealed, and along with them substantial new physical, social and economic opportunities.
